Redmi K50 Extreme Edition with Snapdragon SD8+ Gen1 is coming

The Redmi K50 series of phones already has quite a few members, but the creators obviously do not intend to stop adding new ones just yet. Today, a small teaser appeared on the Chinese social network Weibo , in which we were introduced to the new Redmi K50 Extreme Edition model. On closer inspection, however, we find out that this is not a pure novelty. Under the umbrella of the name Extreme Edition hides a phone that was originally speculated to be the Redmi K50 Ultra or Redmi K50S Pro. And the teaser also confirmed the main thing about its equipment.

The Redmi K50 Extreme Edition really gets the new super-powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset. And the company directly promises the historically highest performance of a piece from the K50 family. As well as radical improvements both in terms of design and with new and even better equipment. The teaser also talks about the approximate date of the performance, although of course it prefers to avoid exact days. In any case, it is more than likely that we will see the news during August.

WOULDN'T IT...? 

However, the designation of the phone may still not be definitive in theory, because we have seen similar megaphones from Xiaomi in the past as well. Redmi K30 Ultra was supposed to be called Redmi K30S Extreme Commemorative Edition. And in the end, the creators stayed with the more digestible first variant. So it is possible that this new piece will eventually come out as the Redmi K50 Ultra. But we'd rather not put our hand in the fire for either version of the name just yet.

In any case, it will definitely be a purely Chinese matter and we will have to wait for the global version. On the other hand, there are already the first reports about the global version, and it's not just pure speculation. In theory, the global variant of Redmi K50 Extreme Edition should be called Xiaomi 12T Pro. Is anyone still really getting their bearings in the chaos of Xiaomi/Redmi/POCO? In addition to the new Snapdragon, the phone is also expected to receive other very decent equipment. It will reportedly include, for example, a 120 Hz AMOLED panel, a 200 Mpx camera or 120 W charging. So we'll see.
