Xiaomi has extended support for the Redmi K60 Ultra

In the middle of this month, Xiaomi held a big presentation event in China where they presented some very interesting products. The main star of the party was the foldable phone Mix Fold 3 , but not even the fans of the Redmi brand came up short. There was also the launch of the Redmi K60 Ultra phone . It's a flagship-level premium phone, but as usual with Redmi, it's affordable. Its price in the Chinese market starts at around $358.

Of course, the relatively low price combined with high-end parameters generated huge interest. The phone is selling well in China, and given that it will also reach global markets under the name Xiaomi 13T Pro, the same success can be expected. So Redmi K60 Ultra has a lot of users and everyone is interested in what kind of software support Xiaomi has prepared for them .

XIAOMI PROMISES A LONG SOFTWARE SUPPORT FOR THE REDMI K60 ULTRA

Xiaomi is not one of those manufacturers that would provide long-term support for their phones. However, in the case of the Redmi K60 Ultra, they really outdid themselves. As the first phone from Xiaomi workshops, it will receive four years of Android system updates and even five years of security patches. It is also added to the first batch of phones ready to update to MIUI 15. And that is definitely commendable.

Since the Redmi K60 Ultra is only available in China so far, this extended software support is limited to the Chinese market for now. And how will it be with the global rebranded model Xiaomi 13T Pro? Tippers estimate that it will reach China's borders sometime early next month. We can probably all agree that it would also benefit from extended software support. There will certainly be plenty of potential buyers, as long as the manufacturer does not set a significantly high price outside the Chinese market. And users will certainly appreciate when their new phone is well taken care of for a long time. With the promise of long-term updates, we hope Xiaomi will improve the pace at which they distribute them. After all, what is the point of extended software support when users often wait several months for updates.
