Samsung introduced the Exynos 1380 and Exynos 1330 processors

Samsung introduced the Exynos 1380 and Exynos 1330 processors

Samsung is still developing its own Exynos processors and has been focusing on chipsets for mid-range phones for the past few months. These are Exynos 1380 and Exynos 1330. Both processors passed a number of necessary certifications at the end of last year and now the manufacturer has officially presented them . The chipsets have several improvements, so we'll take a look at them one by one.

SAMSUNG EXYNOS 1380

Samsung tailored this chipset to mid-range or upper-mid-range phones. It is the successor to the Exynos 1280 and is built on 5nm production technology. It has four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2 GHz and four Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.4 GHz. The cores were complemented by the Mali-G68 MP5 GPU. The Exynos 1380 supports displays with FullHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz.

It is compatible with LPDDR4x and LPDDR5 operating memories and UFS 3.1 storage. It also includes an NPU unit and a Triple ISP chip to support up to 200 MPix sensors. As part of connectivity, there is support for 5G networks, mmWave, Sub-6GHz, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC. Also BeiDou, Galileo, GLONASS and GPS GNSS positioning. It will first appear on the Galaxy A54 phone.

EXYNOS 1330

This processor is also based on 5nm production technology, but it is aimed more at lower-middle class phones. It has two Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.4GHz, six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2GHz and a Mali-G68 MP2 GPU. It also supports displays with FullHD+ resolution, but only with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Support for RAM and internal storage is the same as the previous processor. In the photo equipment, we find support for a 108 MP primary sensor. For connectivity, there is support for BeiDou, Galileo, GLONASS, GPS, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC and of course also for 5G networks, mmWave and Sub-6GHz. The first Samsung phone with this chipset could be the Galaxy A14.
