In 2016 , Nokia tried to return to the scene under the wings of HMD Global. In the beginning, it was a big event for many fans and the interest in Nokia phones was huge. But then came the slump, because the manufacturer was not able to handle the great competition and the pressure to produce premium models. They gave up their production and started focusing on middle and basic class phones. This strategy works for them so far, or rather it works so far that Nokia has not disappeared. And now the European market has launched one phone that has basic class parameters, the Android 12 Go Edition operating system and a low price. It is the Nokia C12 model and we are going to take a look at its specifications right now.
The design of the Nokia C12 makes it clear that it is a basic and inexpensive model. The side frames around the display are narrow, but the chin is really wide and we also see a wider frame above the screen with a large teardrop-shaped cutout for the front camera. In the upper left corner of the rear panel, we find one sensor of the main camera and below it an LED flash. The display as such has a diagonal of 6.3 inches, a resolution of 1600 × 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. The refresh rate reached 60 Hz, but a higher refresh rate cannot be expected for a phone of this type.
If the Nokia C12 is a cheap phone with basic specifications, we cannot expect "asphalt breakers" in terms of processor. Here we find the Unisoc SC9863A chipset with IMG8322 graphics and a maximum clock of 1.6 GHz. It was supplemented by 2 GB of operating memory and 64 GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded. Connectivity is represented by 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, GLONASS, microUSB port and 3.5 mm audio jack. The fingerprint sensor is completely missing, so you need to use the front camera to unlock the phone. The operating system is Android 12 Go Edition. Surprisingly, here we find resistance according to IP52 certification and tempered glass on the display.
The battery has a capacity of 3000 mAh, which is really not much these days. In addition, the battery is removable and the manufacturer does not state the charging performance, so let's not expect miracles in this case either and count on 5 W charging. The front camera has a modest 5 MP and the single sensor of the main camera then got 8 MP. Overall, it can be said that the Nokia C12's parameters are somewhat reminiscent of phones from 2015. At the beginning, we indicated that the mentioned phone has a low price. It is set at 119 euros on the European market. The Dark Cyan, Charcoal and Light Mint color variants go on sale. The Nokia C12 phone will first go on sale in Germany and Austria, and then it will reach other European markets.
