ZTE Axon 30S debuts with a camera under the display

ZTE is famous for being perhaps the only smartphone manufacturer to bet on the commercial use of a camera under the display. Phones with this gadget are offered in the Axon product line and they are models with quite interesting design and parameters. Let us remind everyone of this year's Axon 40 Ultra with the third generation camera under the display, and this model has also been on sale in the European market for a few months . It is therefore a bit of a surprise that the manufacturer launched the new ZTE Axon 30S phone today. The newly launched phone is very similar to last year's Axon ZTE 30 model .

MAIN SPECIFICATIONS OF THE ZTE AXON 30S PHONE 

Even though the ZTE Axon 30S and Axon 30 phones are similar in both design and parameters, there are some minor differences. The newly released phone has slightly updated software, added new camera features and reduced price. So let's see what the new machine has to offer. And we'll start with the display, because it's probably the biggest draw thanks to the camera that lies below it.

The display of the ZTE Axon 30S model itself is an OLED type with a 6.92-inch diagonal, a resolution of 2460 × 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The screen supports 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, 10-bit color depth and DC dimming. So the display is the same as last year's Axon 30 model. There is no cut-out or "hole" above or in the screen, as the front camera can be found below it. A fingerprint sensor is also integrated into the display.

And the processor used remains unchanged. Again, there is the Snapdragon 870 with Adreno 650 GPU. The manufacturer has added 8/12 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of internal storage. Connectivity is represented by 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 ax (2.4 GHz/5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, GLONASS, USB-C and NFC. The battery has a capacity of 4200 mAh and supports fast charging with a power of 55 W. The operating system is Android 12 with MyOS 12 superstructure.

As already mentioned, the front camera lies below the display and has a resolution of 16 MPix. The main camera has four sensors and an LED flash in the module. The primary sensor has 64 MPix and the second 8 MPix sensor works as a wide-angle lens with a coverage of 119°. The third sensor has a resolution of 5 MPix and is used for macro photography from a distance of 3 cm. The last sensor is 2 MPix and can be used to capture depth of field. The ZTE Axon 30S is coming to the Chinese market in black and blue and is on sale today . The version with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage will cost 1,698 yuan, which is roughly $239. The version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory costs 2198 yuan, which is roughly $309. As you can see, the prices have really come down significantly compared to last year's Axon 30 model.
