Moto Razr 2022 finally unveiled
After a year and a short postponement of the introduction, we once again got a folding clamshell from Motorola. Yesterday, the Moto Razr 2022 made its debut on the Chinese market with great fanfare. And since Samsung has already launched its foldable clamshell Galaxy Z Flip 4 , we have two hot competitors on the market at the moment. This year we can really talk about the competition, because Motorola has significantly improved its Razr and turned it into a flagship phone.
Improvements and changes also touched the design of the clamshell model Moto Razr 2022. The manufacturer canceled the big thick chin and the old-fashioned cut-out above the internal display, and added one extra sensor to the main camera. The fingerprint sensor remains in place on the edge of the device. However, most folding phones have a sensor stored in this way. The flip hinge has also been improved, which is thinner and more durable and will keep the phone open at different angles.
The internal display of the Moto Razr 2022 phone is a POLED type with a 6.7-inch diagonal, a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. The screen supports 10-bit colors and HDR10+. In the center of its upper part is a "hole" for the front camera, which has 32 MP. The external screen on the back panel is of the GOLED type with a diagonal of 2.7 inches and a resolution of 800 × 573 pixels. It can be used as a camera viewfinder and also for checking messages and even playing games. Above the secondary display, we find a camera module with a 50 MP primary sensor with OIS support and a 13 MP wide-angle lens with a 121° field of view, which can also be used for macro photography.
Another and rather drastic improvement awaits us inside the clamshell phone. It is the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 processor, which replaced the long-used mid-range chipsets from the Snapdragon 7 series. This year, the flagship chipset will be supplemented with 8/12 GB of RAM and 128/256/512 GB of internal storage. The battery has a capacity of 3500 mAh and support for fast charging with a power of 33 W. This is also a fairly significant improvement compared to previous Razr models. Connectivity is represented by 5G, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6e, NFC, GPS, GLONASS and a USB-C port. The manufacturer also added stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Ready For 3.5 technology for connecting the phone to an external device. The operating system is Android 12 with MyUI 4.0 superstructure.
The Moto Razr 2022 foldable phone is already on pre-order status in the Chinese market and will only be released in black. We expect that it will also reach global markets in some time. The Chinese prices of individual memory versions are as follows:
