Lei Jun, the head of Xiaomi, is said to be presenting a prototype of the first electric car within the next month.

According to information from a source close to Xiaomi, Lei Jun has been spending a lot of time at the headquarters of the automotive branch and personally overseeing the preparations of the electric car prototype. So far, everything is going according to plan, and after the show, the prototype will undergo a series of field tests, including winter testing in adverse weather conditions. All this is absolutely necessary before the start of serial production, which is said to begin in 2024.
The electric car was designed by the HVST Automobile Design team, which is the same company that also designed WM Motor's Maven concept car. Xiaomi is also already preparing a big PR campaign to promote its first car, so I'm sure we'll hear more details soon. In addition, they are also looking to invest heavily in their automotive division. Over the course of the next ten years, this amount is expected to exceed $10 billion. The construction of the Xiaomi Auto production plant is also planned, with an expected capacity of up to 300,000 cars per year when the factory is in full operation. It is said that Xiaomi wants to prepare cars in the A+ and B segments, with the first of them supporting L2 autonomous driving and the second L3 autonomous driving. The price of the first electric car can vary between 22,200 and 29,600 dollars, in the case of the second type it is 29,600 and 44,400 dollars.
