Dimension 7000 shows how it goes with performance
Although MediaTek officially introduced its flagship Dimensity 9000 chipset a few days ago , it is also working on a second processor. MediaTek is said to have tailor-made it for upper-middle-class phones and its name is Dimensity 7000. Unlike its more powerful brother, it is built on 5nm TSMC production technology. Tippers claim that the processor is already undergoing an internal testing phase. They also estimate that they will replace existing 6nm MediaTek chipsets next year, such as Dimensity 1200.
According to the first hints and rumors, the upcoming Dimensity 7000 processor looks quite interesting. That is why the well-known tipper Digital Chat Station continues to take care of him . They share some basic information about this chipset on the Chinese network. Above all, he confirmed the use of the 5nm manufacturing process, which of course affects the performance of the chipset. In Antut's internal tests, Dimensity 7000 has a running score of 750000 points, which means that it is better than Snapdragon 870, but slightly worse than Snapdragon 888.
The test results are interesting for several reasons. But mainly because the Snapdragon 870 is considered by phone manufacturers to be almost a flagship processor and is widely used in upper-middle-class devices. Well, if the Dimensity 7000 performs better in tests, it could be the same star next year. In addition, it is expected to be more energy efficient and have the same eight-core architecture as its flagship Dimensity 9000. However, further information on the parameters is not yet available. Nevertheless, the tipsters estimate that the first phones with this chipset will appear in the first quarter of next year.
