Is POCO planning its own tablet and smart watch?

Successful brands of phone manufacturers usually do not stay with just one category of products, and over time they try to find happiness elsewhere. It is logical, for example, for giant Xiaomi-type corporations, but a similar approach is not avoided by smaller "fish". And they can easily be sub-brands of a large corporation. And slowly, it is starting to look like we may very soon see portfolio diversification even from successful POCO teams. So at least that's what their marketing chief Angus Ng talks about in an interview with the Android Authority.

At POCO, they are currently primarily preparing to present another very interesting phone, which will be the POCO M4 Pro 5G on November 9th. But slowly, plans to launch their own tablet or smart watch are reportedly beginning to crystallize. The company is said to plan to start in small steps and mainly to play it safe. Therefore, they may not start directly with large projects such as tablets, but more likely with accessories such as powerbanks, headphones or smart wearability. However, nothing is excluded, because the company intends to focus on building its own ecosystem.

The rise in interest in tablets during the pandemic has also led to an increase in the supply of competing models, so that the market is currently relatively saturated. So it's much harder to come up with something groundbreaking and successful. But if POCO succeeds in something similar to their phones, success is almost guaranteed. At the moment, it is one of the most interesting brands with a price / performance ratio and solid phone parameters§. In addition, they allegedly intend to differentiate more in software and offer, in addition to their own launcher, deeper interventions and modifications of MIUI. No small targets.
