Huawei has officially rolled out the much-awaited HarmonyOS 6 public beta following its initial announcement back in June 2025. The new version brings a redesigned interface, faster performance, and powerful AI-driven tools designed to enhance user experience across Huawei devices.
The latest update to HarmonyOS 6 introduces a fresh design language with smoother animations, improved system fluidity, and greater customization. Huawei has also enhanced the lockscreen experience, allowing users to personalize widgets, wallpapers, and smart shortcuts easily.
One of the biggest additions is the new XiaoYi AI personal assistant. This intelligent assistant provides contextual suggestions, automates daily tasks, and integrates with HarmonyOS devices to perform functions autonomously — similar to advanced AI agents seen on Android and iOS platforms.
Huawei’s engineers have fine-tuned the system to deliver better energy efficiency and quicker app response times. The new HarmonyOS 6 framework allows for deeper AI integration across apps, improving voice control, text prediction, and smart multitasking.
The public beta is currently available for select Huawei devices in China, and users can register for the update through the My Huawei app. Huawei has confirmed that the global rollout will be announced later this year.
Users can sign up for the public beta through the My Huawei app. The company advises that all feedback from testers will directly contribute to performance optimization before the stable version launches.
