Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 May Hit The Market Sooner

In July, Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi Mix Flip, making its debut in the flip-style foldable phone market. We know that the device received favorable reviews, which encouraged Xiaomi to start working on its successor. According to a recent leak, it seems that we will see the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 arrive in the Chinese market earlier than expected.

Tipster Digital Chat Station reports that the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 will see the light of day with a launch in the first half of 2025. Strong sales of the original Mix Flip model led Xiaomi to implement major improvements for the second generation of the model.

While the first generation Mix Flip brought Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the upcoming Mix Flip 2 is likely to feature Snapdragon 8 Elite under the hood . This means a big performance boost. This makes it one of the most relevant flip flagships. After all, some brands tend to use older flagship chipsets in their foldable phones. This device will thus come as a direct competitor to Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 7. After all, this may be the only other foldable flip phone equipped with the same chipset.

Key Details About Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 Revealed In Certifications

The Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is expected to bring several improvements over its predecessor. Digital Chat Station has revealed that we will also see wireless charging in the specifications, a feature that was missing from the first-generation model. As well as IPX8 waterproofing for better durability. The device will also be thinner and more versatile, making it more user-friendly.

In August, two model numbers, 2505APX7BC and 2505APX7BG, appeared in the GSMA IMEI database. They are believed to correspond to the Chinese and global versions of the Mix Flip 2. The EEC has also approved the global variant, signaling its launch in European markets.

Although battery details have not been confirmed, the Mix Flip 2 seems to follow the trend of larger batteries in flagship phones. It could offer a capacity of over 5,000mAh. That's a lot for a foldable phone with this design. Combined with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, it's expected to create a well-deserved buzz in the foldable phone market.

We expect more details to emerge in the coming weeks, with leaks likely to intensify as 2025 approaches. We also expect Xiaomi to significantly strengthen its presence in the foldable phone market with this model.
