The Redmi brand is often seen as a budget-friendly alternative to Xiaomi, but that's not always the case. The Redmi K series spans across various segments, consistently delivering an impressive price-to-performance ratio. These phones have earned the reputation of being "flagship killers," a label that fits last year’s Redmi K70 series perfectly. This year, the highly anticipated K80 series is set to take the spotlight, and rumors have already started swirling. In this article, we delve into the details of the upcoming Redmi K80 Pro, based on the latest leaks.
According to a recent leak by the renowned Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Redmi K80 Pro is set to pack some impressive specs. Confirming earlier rumors, the tipster revealed that the K80 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen4 processor, a flagship chipset built on 3nm technology. This powerful processor features the Cortex-X925 core, designed for high performance.
The Redmi K80 Pro is also expected to feature a flat OLED display with 2K resolution, offering sharp and vibrant visuals. Notably, the phone will integrate an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor within the screen. This technology provides several advantages over traditional optical fingerprint sensors, including greater accuracy and the ability to unlock the phone even with wet hands.
One of the standout features of the Redmi K80 Pro is its triple camera setup. The primary sensor is a 50 MP shooter, accompanied by a 50 MP telephoto lens that supports up to 3x optical zoom. This makes the K80 Pro the first in the K series to offer a triple zoom telephoto lens. For comparison, last year’s K70 Pro included a telephoto lens with only 2x zoom.
The camera module is expected to be housed in a circular enclosure located in the upper left corner of the back panel. The module is reportedly made of glass, while the phone's central frame will be metal, giving it a premium feel.
Although the tipster didn’t mention the battery capacity, previous leaks suggest that the Redmi K80 Pro could feature a massive 6000 mAh battery, supporting fast charging with a power of up to 120W. This would ensure the device can keep up with the demands of its powerful hardware and high-resolution display.
The Redmi K80 Pro is shaping up to be a true flagship contender, packed with cutting-edge technology and features that challenge the traditional high-end market. As the release date approaches, anticipation builds for what could be one of the most exciting smartphone launches of the year.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Redmi K80 Pro as we get closer to its official announcement.
