HMD Skyline passed Geekbench tests
A few days ago we mentioned that HMD is working on another new phone that it wants to release under its own brand. Yes, we are talking about the HMD Skyline model, which wants to make a name for itself in the hearts of those who remember the legendary Nokia Lumia phones. Its design is based on the Fabula design language, which Nokia first used for the Nokia N9 phone. However, the bright yellow color is strikingly reminiscent of the Nokia Lumia 920 model.
Although the appearance of the HMD Skyline phone will evoke nostalgic memories of the past, the parameters clearly correspond to current trends. They fall into the middle class and the processor also meets this condition. The tipsters estimate that it is a Snapdragon 7s Gen2 chipset. Whether their estimates are correct will now be confirmed or refuted by the Geekbench benchmark tests that the phone has just passed.
HMD SKYLINE HAS A CONFIRMED PROCESSOR
The upcoming phone has been tested by HMD Global as the HMD Skyline, so there is no doubt as to what kind of device it is. In the listing, we can see that it is powered by a Qualcomm processor with an internal motherboard label of “Tomcat”. It has eight cores, which are divided into two clusters with a 4/4 architecture. The maximum clock speed for the first four cores is 2.40. The other four cores run at a clock frequency of 1.96 GHz. From these data it is clear that the real tipper is the estimated Snapdragon 7s Gen2 chipset.
In addition, the test dump confirmed that the HMD Skyline phone passed the tests with 8 GB of RAM and Android 14. This too is in line with the earlier estimates of the tipsters. According to them, a version with 12 GB of RAM will go on the market, and the internal storage capacity is said to be 256 GB. The performance score in the Single-core test is 1027 points and in the multi-core test it is 2857 points.
However, the listing did not reveal more details about the phone's parameters. But we know from previous estimates. that the phone's display is of the AMOLED type, is touch-sensitive and has a FullHD+ resolution. The refresh rate is said to have reached up to 120 Hz and there is also support for HDR10+. The HMD Skyline phone supports Bluetooth 5.2 and even NFC. It has dual speakers with OZO technology. IP67-certified resistance is also a decent bonus. According to tipsters, the battery has a fairly decent capacity of 4900 mAh and supports fast cable charging with a power of 33 W. The fingerprint sensor is integrated into the display.
In the photo equipment, we are said to find a triple main camera with a primary 108 MPix sensor with OIS support, an 8 MPix wide-angle lens and a 2 MPix sensor that either works as a macro lens or as a depth sensor. The front camera reportedly received a 32MP sensor. It is said that the performance will take place during the next month.
