Vivo S19 and S19 Pro debut with a new design
About a week ago, the Vivo brand confirmed that it planned an introduction on the Chinese market on May 30. Of course, it's no secret that the Vivo S19 series phones debuted yesterday , and specifically the standard model and the Pro model. It will replace last year's S18 models on the market , which had an attractive design. However, the manufacturer has completely redesigned the new phones and the appearance is again very good. Apart from that, there are also a few improvements to the specs, so we'll take a closer look at them now.
DESIGN AND DISPLAY OF VIVO S19 SERIES PHONES
Mainly the rear panel of the Vivo S19 series received a big change in appearance. The rectangular module of the main camera, which last year's models had, has been replaced by an oval module. In the upper part of the oval, we see one large circle, under which lies a smaller circle and a circular LED flash. The difference between the standard model and the Pro model is the storage of a smaller bezel and LED flash. The display on the Pro model is curved on the sides, the standard model has a flat screen. The bezels are very narrow and there is a “hole” in the top center of the screens for the front camera.
Within the parameters, both displays are essentially the same. They are of the AMOLED type with a diagonal of 6.78 inches, a resolution of 2800 × 1260 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. They support 100% DCI-P3 and HDR10+ color gamut. Their brightness reached up to 4500 nits.
OTHER SPECIFICATIONS
The Vivo S19 and S19 Pro phones differ in terms of the processors used. The first of them received the Snapdragon 7 Gen3 chipset and the second the Dimensity 9200 Plus. But both models have the same 8 GB/12 GB/16 GB operating memory and 256 GB/512 GB of internal storage. Connectivity is represented by 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 ac (2.4 GHz/5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, USB-C and NFC. Fingerprint sensors are integrated into the displays. The manufacturer added stereo speakers with Hi-Res Audio to the phones, and in the Pro model, resistance according to IP68 and IP69 certifications. The Vivo S19 model has a battery with a capacity of 6000 mAh and supports fast charging with a power of 80 W. The Pro model has a slightly smaller battery with a capacity of 5500 mAh, the charging power is the same. The phones run on the Android 14 operating system with the Origin OS 4 superstructure.
PHOTO EQUIPMENT, PRICES AND AVAILABILITY
The photo equipment of the new phones is also different. The standard model has a dual main camera with a primary 50 MPix OmniVision OV50E sensor with OIS support. It was complemented by an 8 MPix wide-angle OmniVision OV08D10 lens with an aperture of f/2.2. The Pro model has a triple main camera. The Sony IMX921 primary sensor has a resolution of 50 MPix and OIS support. It is paired with the OmniVision OV08D10 8MP wide-angle lens and the 50MP telephoto lens. The front camera is the same in both cases and received a 50 MPix Samsung JN1 sensor with automatic focus.
The Vivo S19 series phones are coming to the Chinese market in blue, gray, peach and green colors. Pre-orders are already running, sales start on June 7/June. The prices of individual memory versions are as follows:
