Unlucky Samsung phones that won't get the One UI 6.0 update

Samsung smartphones are known for their own One UI software system that runs on the Android OS platform. The topic among Samsung users is the long-awaited One UI 6.0 based on Android 14. Enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting this update and wondering which phones will be honored. However, it should be noted that not all devices from the South Korean manufacturer will meet the requirements for One UI 6.0. Companies often remove certain devices from the main update lists due to firmware changes that can lead to compatibility issues. Unfortunately, this means that several Galaxy phones and tablets will not receive the expected One UI 6.0 (Android 14) update.

DEVICES WITH ONE UI 6.0

Samsung has implemented a policy of offering four generations of OS updates and five years of security patches for its flagship phones launched in 2021 and beyond. As a result, the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S23 series phones are expected to receive the One UI 6.0 update based on Android 14. In addition, we also have selected mid-range phones like the Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A73 that will receive One UI 6.0 already this year.

SAMSUNG DEVICE WITHOUT ANDROID 14

Unfortunately, several Samsung Galaxy devices will not be able to take advantage of the One UI 6.0 update based on Android 14. These include the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy Z Flip (LTE/5G), S20 FE (LTE/5G), Z Fold 2 5G, Note 10 Lite, S10 Lite, A51 and A71. However, it is important to note that even if these devices do not receive a major OS update, they will continue to receive security patches for a period of time.

ANDROID 14 AND ONE UI 6.0 RELEASE

In February, Google released the first developer PREVIEW of Android 14. This update first hit Pixel smartphones, which are direct from Google. Now the company has already released the third preview version for developers and is preparing for the next one. Once all beta releases are complete, a full version package will be released. As usual, Google will release the final update for Pixel smartphones via AOSP (Android Open-Source Project). This opens the way for all other manufacturers to join.
