Samsung may cancel the Galaxy S24 Plus model

For several years, this series consists of three models, namely the standard Galaxy S and then the Galaxy S Plus and Galaxy S Ultra. At the same time, the last of them is the best equipped. We expect the same line-up this year, but tipsters say that we won't see any radical changes compared to last year's models. However, it is certainly pleasing that Samsung will send its new machines to all markets exclusively with the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor. And the Ultra model will get the biggest improvement .
So this year is clear and, as always, we can count on three phones in a row. But will it also apply next year? Here, according to The Elec website , a big question mark hangs over the Galaxy S24 Plus model. It's not unusual for manufacturers to occasionally mix up the composition of their long-running series, and it doesn't matter what reason they have for doing so. Samsung will also approach the layout of the future Galaxy S24 series in a similar way.
WHY IS SAMSUNG CANCELING THE GALAXY S24 PLUS MODEL?
According to recent information, Samsung wants to cancel the Plus model from next year, starting with the Galaxy S24 series. This means that instead of three models, it will only offer us two models, the "DM1" which is the Galaxy S24 and the "DM3" which is the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Missing "DM2", otherwise also Galaxy S24 Plus. There could be many reasons why Samsung canceled the production of the "plus" model, but the most likely reason is that this model is not selling well. That is, its sales are not such that its continued existence is profitable.
In addition, the smartphone market has also been experiencing a slump recently. Potential buyers in developed markets have basically divided into two groups. For those who prefer to buy a cheaper phone and for those who, on the contrary, reach for a significantly premium machine. And let's face it, the Galaxy S Plus model is right in the middle. And the sales numbers also speak for themselves. Last year, the Galaxy S22 Plus model sold only 5.5 million units, which is about 17% of the total shipments of the Galaxy S22 series . Conversely, sales of the standard and Ultra models accounted for 38% and 45% of total deliveries, respectively. Therefore, the abolition of the plus model is logical.
