Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus passed Geekbench tests

The end of the year is approaching and with it the preparations for next year's flagship phones are at their peak. All established manufacturers are working on them, and the vast majority of them want to use the new Snapdragon 8 Gen2 flagship processor. Its launch is coming soon, so we can't be surprised that some of the phones powered by it are already undergoing benchmark tests. And yes, we are thinking of Samsung phones at this moment. Last month, the Galaxy S23 and now the Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus passed the Geekbench tests .

WHAT DID THE SAMSUNG GALAXY S23 PLUS TESTS CONFIRM? 

While tipsters claim that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 models won't get any major upgrades compared to the Galaxy S22 series models, they do promise one improvement. The phones will get a new processor. So the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chipset will replace the brand new Snapdragon 8 Gen2. But even here we find one small catch. Apparently, phones with a Snapdragon processor will only reach some markets, and in others Samsung will send them with its own Exynos chipset. Although there was speculation that Samsung would drop Exynos for the new flagship series, it seems that this was just a false alarm.

Therefore, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus, which has just passed Geekbench, is apparently the version for the US market. The tested model is codenamed SM-S916U and, according to the listing, it is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor. And as we know, Samsung has always reserved Qualcomm processors for the US market. The listing also shows that the processor has the Kalama designation, a three-cluster architecture with a 1/3/4 core layout, and a maximum clock speed of 3.36 GHz.

During the tests, the processor was supplemented by 8 GB of operating memory and the Android 13 system. In the single-core test, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus scored 1,485 points, and in the multi-core test, it scored 4,844 points. If we were to compare the results with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 processor, which has a score of 1333 and 4211 points, we see a performance improvement of around 14% and 9%. As for other parameters, as already mentioned, we do not expect any dizzying changes. The tipsters expect a Dynamic AMOLED display with a FullHD+ resolution, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a diagonal of 6.6 inches. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+. The battery is said to have a capacity of 4500 mAh and reportedly supports fast charging with a power of 45 W. In the photo equipment, we can find the main camera with 50 MP, 12 MP and 10 MP sensors and a front 12 MP camera.
