Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition offers 210W charging

There are a total of four phones in the Redmi Note 12 series, which debuted yesterday. The highest is the Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition. It is true that it has most of the specifications in common with the Note 12 Pro Plus model, but in terms of charging performance, this phone has set a really high bar. The charging power reached a dizzying 210 W, even though the battery capacity was slightly reduced. In connection with the high performance, it had to be constructed according to very strict requirements.

So it needs to be said that the battery has a capacity of 4300 mAh and thanks to 210 W charging, it charges from zero to 100% in just 9 minutes. After 5 minutes, the Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition phone is already charged to 66%. If we were to compare the charging speed with the Note 12 Pro Plus model, which has a 5000 mAh battery and 120 W charging, the Pro Plus model takes 19 minutes to charge from zero to 100%.

Also, the GaN charger, which can handle 210 W, is special and therefore we can find it in the box together with the Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition model. It is surprisingly small with dimensions of 67.3 x 64.3 x 30 mm. The charging cable is 1 meter long and has an E-mark chip to ensure safety in use. If we wanted to use a different cable for the charger without this chip, the charger will only provide a standard power of 65 W.

REDMI NOTE 12 EXPLORER EDITION SPECIFICATIONS SUMMARY 

So, we have described the big draw of the Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition model, and all that remains is to quickly summarize its other parameters. But they are essentially the same as the Note 12 Pro Plus model. Here, too, we find a 6.67-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 30/60/90/120 Hz. The screen does not lack support for the DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.

The Dimensity 1080 processor was supplemented by only one memory version with 8 GB of operating memory and 256 GB of internal storage. Connectivity is represented by 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 ac (2.4 GHz/5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, GLONASS, USB-C, NFC and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The fingerprint sensor is integrated into the display. This model also has stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and an IR blaster. The operating system is Android 12 with MIUI 13 superstructure.

As already mentioned, the battery has a capacity of 4300 mAh and supports 210 W charging. Also, the photo equipment is the same as the Note 12 Pro Plus, which means the main camera with a primary 200 MPix Samsung Isocell HPX sensor. The other two sensors have a resolution of 8 MPix and 2 MPix. The front camera got 16 MPix. The phone is already in pre-order status, with sales starting on October 31st. The price is set at 2,399 yuan, which translates to roughly $332. It is not yet known whether this model will reach global markets.
