Asus Zenfone 9 officially introduced

Not so long ago, Asus introduced two ROG Phone 6 series gaming phones with Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 processor. And after them, it was now the turn of another phone with this chipset. It's the Asus Zenfone 9 model, but we didn't hear much about it before the launch, and the presentation took place in silence. The new phone replaces last year 's Zenfone 8 on the market and, like it, is compact with a "small" display for today.

ASUS ZENFONE 9 DESIGN AND DISPLAY 

Compared to last year's model, the design of the new Asus Zenfone 9 has changed and perhaps looks a bit like some Huawei phones. The side bezels are relatively narrow, the chin and top bezel slightly wider. In the upper left corner there is a "hole" for the front camera. The rear panel is dominated by the main camera. It consists of two large circles with a distinct border, and to the right of them lies the LED flash. The front panel, back panel and edges are flat, the phone frame is metal. On the right edge we find the volume rocker and the power button with an integrated fingerprint sensor.

The display of the Asus Zenfone 9 phone is of the AMOLED type with a diagonal of 5.9 inches, a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The screen supports HDR10+, 115% sRGB, 112% DCI-P3 color gamut and brightness up to 800 nits. It is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. The aspect ratio is 20:9 and the fineness is 445 ppi.

OTHER SPECIFICATIONS 

As said, the phone is powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 processor. The manufacturer added 8/16 GB of operating memory and 128/256 GB of internal storage to it. The battery has a capacity of 4300 mAh and supports fast charging with a power of 30 W. Connectivity is represented by 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ax 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, Galileo(E1/E5a), QZSS( L1/L5), NavIC(L5), USB-C, NFC and 3.5 mm audio jack. The Asus Zenfone 9 is also water and dust resistant according to IP68 certification, and it also has powerful stereo speakers. The operating system is Android 12 with Asus ZenUI 9 superstructure.

PHOTO EQUIPMENT, PRICE AND AVAILABILITY 

The main camera is really unmissable. It is dual with a primary 50 MP Sony IMX799 sensor with 6-axis hybrid gimbal stabilization, EIS and PDAF. It is paired with a 12 MP Sony IMX663 wide-angle lens with a 113° field of view, which will also serve as a macro lens. The front camera received a 12 MP Sony IMX663 sensor with automatic focus.

Asus Zenfone 9 comes in Midnight Black, Starry Blue, Sunset Red and Moonlight White colors. It will first go on sale in Europe, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Then he will look at the market to the USA, Japan, Indonesia and South America. In Europe, we will pay 799 euros (CZK 19,659) for the version with 8 GB/128 GB. The manufacturer did not specify the prices of other versions and the date of the start of sales.
