Introducing the new generation of the flexible Huawei Mate Xs 2

Flexible phones are definitely on the rise and Chinese Huawei is still one of the premiums in this category. They are really very active in this area and recently they sent an interesting clamshell P50 Pocke t to the market. In addition, it is officially sold in our country, unlike, for example, the last flagship Mate X2 . The two-year-old Mate Xs is also available in our country, and this is the piece that has seen its successor today. The Huawei Mate Xs 2 performed with great fame in China.

Like its predecessor, the Mate Xs 2 features an "outdoor" flexible display. So unlike most flexible competition models (or even the Mate X2), it doesn't have an external secondary display. Of course, this also has its advantages, but it is generally considered a less durable solution. However, the Huawei Xs 2 tries to catch up with a very durable construction, using titanium alloys, fiberglass and strong steel. The back panel is then made of microfiber and the whole phone weighs only a very decent 255 g. The joint is also a new generation with an invisible folding "groove".

FLEXIBLE DISPLAY FOR CONNOISSEURS 

When closed, the flexible display has a 6.5-inch diagonal with a resolution of 2480 x 1176 pixels and is fully spread over 7.8-inch with a resolution of 2480 x 2200 pixels. It is, of course, an OLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 240 Hz sampling and 1920 Hz PWM. It is covered by a durable polymer layer and also supports the M-Pen 2s touch pen with up to 4096 pressure levels. In the upper right corner there is a "shot" for a 10.7 Mpx ultra-wide selfie camera sf / 2.2. The main camera on the back is triple and offers a combination of 50 Mpx sf / 1.8, 13 Mpx ultra-wide sf / 2.2 and 8 Mpx telephoto sf / 2.4, OIS and 3x optical zoom.

UNFORTUNATELY, ONLY 4G NETWORKS ARE STILL AVAILABLE 

Snapdragon 888 takes care of the performance, but of course only for Huawei in the 4G version. It is also supplemented by 8 GB RAM and 256 GB / 512 GB internal. But there will also be a special Collector's Edition with 12 GB of RAM. There is also a memory card slot, but only those special corporate nano versions are supported. The battery has 4600 mAh (or 4800 mAh at Collector's) and can handle 66W charging. The cooling is graphene with a liquid system, so the temperatures are kept at a good level. Of course, we won't lose the NFC chip or Bluetooth 5.2 either. And the new Harmony OS 2 is ready for flexible display and multi-window applications.

Three color versions are on sale and are available in black, white or purple. All that remains is to add prices for the Chinese market. The basic 8GB + 256GB version comes out at $ 1,512, 8GB + 512GB at $ 1,739 and the highest 12GB + 512GB at $ 1,965. But most people will definitely reach for the M-Pen 2s stylus for another $ 90.
