The Redmi K40S was also officially introduced

What seemed like pure speculation by Chinese tipsters yesterday morning became a reality this afternoon at the Redmi brand. The tippers indicated that together with the Redmi K50 series, the Redmi K40S would be launched. The manufacturer canceled the release of this machine at the end of last year , but in the end it is the world . Perhaps the great popularity of last year's phones from this series is behind the launch of the K40S model. Anyway, let's see how this phone with the parameters is doing and whether there have been any drastic changes since last year.

MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE REDMI K40S 

Basically, the Redmi K40S is based on the standard K40 model. It has an improved design as well as several features and specifications. Probably the biggest improvement is found in the cooling system with a steam chamber with an area of ​​up to 3112 mm² and liquid cooling. As a result, the heat dissipation efficiency has increased by 400% compared to the standard Redmi K40. The game mode and charging technology have also been improved. The Redmi K40S supports fast charging with a power of 67 W, while the K40 model has only 33 W charging. This reduces the charging time from 52 minutes to 38 minutes. There is also a small improvement in the photo equipment, namely support for optical image stabilization (OIS), which the K40 does not have.

ADDITIONAL SPECIFICATIONS AND PRICES 

The E4 AMOLED display has a diagonal of 6.67 inches and a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels. The refresh rate has reached 120 Hz, the brightness at 1300 nits and the minimum contrast ratio is 5,000,000: 1. Here you will find support for HDR10 +, MEMC and also Gorilla Glass 5.

The Redmi K40S phone is powered by a Snapdragon 870 processor, the same chipset that was talked about last year, when the introduction of this machine was canceled. The chipset pair includes 6/8/12 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of internal storage. The battery has a capacity of 4500 mAh and, as already mentioned, supports fast charging with a power of 67 W. Connectivity is represented by 5G SA / NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 ax, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS (L1 / L5) and USB-C . The fingerprint sensor is located on the edge of the device and the equipment also includes an IR blaster, NFC and / or Dolby Atmos support.

And finally, let's look at the photo equipment. The front camera has a resolution of 20 MPix and an aperture of f / 2.4. The main camera is triple with a primary 48 MPix Sony IMX582 sensor with f / 1.79 aperture and OIS support. It was complemented by an 8 MPix wide-angle lens with 119 ° angle and a 2 MPix macro lens.
