Xiaomi has established itself in the gaming smartphone segment with its Black Shark brand. At the beginning of last year, the company introduced the Black Shark 4 series with a Snapdragon 888 processor, 144 Hz display and 120 W charging. The 4S and 4S Pro models with a pressure-sensitive display also debuted in about six months. And we will not be deprived of these popular gaming machines this year either, because the Black Shark 5 series is in preparation. We are also interested in their development because the Tencent Group is rumored to be planning to buy the Black Shark brand.
In any case, the tipsters are slowly starting to write about the upcoming game machines. One of them, the well-known Digital Chat Station, predicts at Weibo what parameters the Black Shark 5 series can bring. The tipper states that there are two phones in the series with the internal designations Katyusha and Patriot. In addition, the phone code KTUS-A0 is already registered with the Chinese MIIT office, which has confirmed its existence.
The tipster also describes that the Black Shark 5 series will receive several significant improvements, such as a new powerful processor, a large battery and the latest operating system. To be more specific, it is Snapdragon 8 Gen1 and Android 12 with JoyUI extension. The two-cell battery is said to have a total capacity of 4600 mAh and supports fast charging with a power of 100 W. However, this applies to the standard version of the phone. For the versions, it is said to have a 5000 mAh battery, 120 W charging and is also powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen1. It also reportedly has a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with 2K resolution and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. However, the tipsters do not dare to estimate the date of the launch of this series.
