OnePlus plans to significantly improve the cameras in 2022

The OnePlus brand has built up a large and loyal fan base during its existence. Their phones started as flagship killers, but over time they transformed into classic flagship models, including price. Various elements in their design and equipment are appreciated, but the cameras have never belonged to the very top. The latest generation has moved significantly for the better with OnePlus 9 Pro, but still has no chance of competing with the really best. However, it seems that the company intends to change this, at least as evidenced by the statements of their highest officials.
OnePlus took a big step last year thanks to a partnership with the legendary Hasselblad brand, and this collaboration will continue. The investment of about $ 150 million is also not for the development of better mobile cameras to throw away. OnePlus head of photo division, Mr. Hsiaohua Cheng, said he was working on better color tuning and sensor calibration. Improvements should also be made to the quality of lenses and optics in general, so flagship models definitely have something to look forward to. Specifically, the year 2022 is mentioned as a turning point, when the brand should finally come out of the shadows with cameras.
In a flood of positive and optimistic statements, however, a worm of doubt still gnaws at many. All promises and plans do not mention the improvement of the approach possibilities anywhere, and it was in this category that OnePlus had the biggest shortcomings in the long run. In addition, according to Chinese "leakers", the upcoming OnePlus 10 flagship series will not receive a specialized telephoto lens with a long zoom, so great miracles in this respect cannot be expected.
