Samsung One UI 8 has officially begun its global rollout, starting with the Galaxy S25 series. The update first landed in South Korea, with Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, S25 Ultra, and even the new S25 Edge models receiving it ahead of other devices. While South Korean users are already enjoying the new features, Samsung fans worldwide can expect the update to arrive in the coming weeks.
Samsung traditionally releases major updates in phases, starting in its home country before expanding globally. According to a community moderator on Samsung's official forum, we now have a clearer timeline of when different Galaxy models will receive One UI 8.
If you own a Galaxy S25, you’re at the top of the list. Samsung has prioritized its latest flagship phones for the initial rollout, ensuring a smooth and stable experience before pushing the update to older devices.
October will see the update expand to a much larger group of devices, including last year’s Galaxy S24 series, older flagships like the Galaxy S23 and S22 series, foldable phones such as the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6, and a variety of tablets and mid-range Galaxy A-series devices. This month is when most Samsung users will likely receive the update.
November is reserved for Samsung's older foldable phones, budget-friendly Galaxy A-series models, and entry-level tablets. If you haven’t received the update by this time, chances are your device is included in this batch.
It’s important to remember that this timeline is based on South Korean releases. Global rollouts often happen a few weeks later and can vary by region, carrier, and even by model within the same series. Patience is key — you may receive the update later than others, even if you own the same device.
Samsung’s One UI 8 update brings a range of new features, performance improvements, and enhanced security. If you own a Galaxy S25, you’ll be among the first to experience these changes. Owners of slightly older flagships and foldable phones won’t have to wait too long, with most devices expected to receive the update by the end of November.
To check for updates, go to Settings → Software Update → Download and Install on your Galaxy device.
The Samsung One UI 8 rollout is underway, starting with the Galaxy S25 series in September, expanding to flagships and mid-range phones in October, and wrapping up with budget devices and older foldables in November.
