Samsung has officially introduced its latest foldable smartphone, the Samsung W25, an impressive upgrade to the Galaxy Z Fold 6. While it retains the core design elements of its predecessor, the W25 boasts numerous enhancements that elevate the user experience, from display quality to processing power and durability.
The Samsung W25 is designed with a slimmer profile, now 1.5mm thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold 6, measuring just 10.6mm when folded. This makes it one of the thinnest foldable phones available. Its main display is an expansive 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a high resolution of QXGA+ (2184 x 1968 pixels) and a unique 20:18 aspect ratio, ideal for multitasking and media enjoyment. With an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz, HDR10+ support, and peak brightness up to 2600 nits, the W25 delivers vivid, smooth visuals even in bright settings.
Externally, the device features a 6.5-inch HD+ Dynamic AMOLED display with a 21:9 aspect ratio, also offering a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 2600 nits. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, enhancing its resistance to scratches and drops.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chipset, the Samsung W25 ensures top-notch performance and efficiency. The device also packs 16GB of RAM for smooth multitasking and demanding applications. Storage options include 512GB and an impressive 1TB variant.
The Samsung W25 features a 200MP main rear camera, a significant upgrade from the 50MP sensor on the Galaxy Z Fold 6. The main camera is complemented by a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 10MP telephoto lens, ideal for a variety of photography styles. For selfies and video calls, there’s a 10MP front camera on the external display and a 4MP under-display camera on the main screen, catering to photography enthusiasts with versatility.
The Samsung W25 comes with a 4,400mAh battery that supports 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging, providing sufficient power for a full day’s usage and quick recharges. The phone includes a side-mounted fingerprint reader for security and boasts an IP48 rating, which ensures water and dust resistance. Dolby Atmos-enhanced stereo speakers deliver an immersive audio experience, while Samsung's One UI 6.1.1, based on the latest Android 14, offers a smooth and intuitive user interface.
The Samsung W25 is set to launch in China on November 15 with an introductory price of $2,230, with the higher-tier model priced at $2,500. A global release is expected to follow soon, making the W25 a strong contender in the foldable smartphone market.
With its advanced features, streamlined design, and robust performance, the Samsung W25 is positioned to deliver a premium mobile experience, appealing to both power users and tech enthusiasts alike.
