MediaTek is gearing up to introduce its new flagship processor, the Dimensity 9400, which promises to be a powerful chipset, not just in terms of CPU performance, but also with its robust GPU capabilities. Benchmark tests show promising results, making it one of the most anticipated launches of the year.
Tipsters have long predicted that MediaTek will unveil the Dimensity 9400 sometime next month. Some even suggest that the launch could happen before the debut of the competing Snapdragon 8 Gen4. This speculation stems from Vivo's hint about its upcoming Vivo X200 series, expected to launch in mid-October, which will feature the Dimensity 9400 chipset.
The excitement surrounding the Dimensity 9400 is no longer just rumors. MediaTek has officially confirmed the launch event, scheduled for October 9. The theme of the event, "AI Chip Leap," highlights the processor’s enhanced AI support, enabling phones powered by the Dimensity 9400 to handle more complex AI functions.
The Dimensity 9400 is built on TSMC's N3E manufacturing technology, which promises improved performance and efficiency. The chipset features an eight-core architecture divided into three clusters (1/3/4). The primary Cortex-X925 core clocks in at 3.63 GHz, supported by three Cortex-X4 cores running at 2.80 GHz and four Cortex-A725 cores clocked at 2.10 GHz.
Complementing the CPU is the Immortalis-G25 GPU, which is touted to be the most powerful graphics unit on the market. The combination of these advanced technologies will deliver up to 30% better performance compared to the previous generation, the Dimensity 9300.
The Vivo X200 series will be the first to showcase this new chipset, followed by the Oppo Find X8 series, which will also adopt the Dimensity 9400 for its flagship models.
