Vivo V40 and V40 Pro debut in India
Vivo has officially launched the Vivo V40 series in India, as announced. While the standard V40 model has been available in the European market for some time, the introduction of the Pro model is generating significant interest among European consumers. Both models boast impressive photography capabilities, robust battery life, and a sleek, slim design. Let's explore the details of the Vivo V40 series.
Design and Display
The Vivo V40 series shares a cohesive design language, featuring an oval camera module. This module includes a prominent large circle at the top, a smaller circle beneath it, and a circular LED flash. The phones offer a modern look with curved-edge displays, narrow bezels, and a centrally placed punch-hole for the front camera. With a thickness of just 7.58 mm and a weight of 190 grams, both models are remarkably slim and lightweight. Additionally, they come with IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.
Both models sport a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2800 × 1260 pixels and a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate. The screens support 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and HDR10+ for vibrant, true-to-life visuals. With a brightness of up to 4500 nits, the display quality is nothing short of stunning.
Performance and Battery
The standard Vivo V40 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen3 processor, while the Pro variant is equipped with the Dimensity 9200 Plus chipset, offering a performance boost. Both models provide 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM, ensuring smooth multitasking. Storage options for the standard model include 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB, whereas the Pro model offers 256GB and 512GB. The series is backed by a robust 5500 mAh battery, supporting 80 W fast charging. They run on Android 14 with the FunTouch OS 14 interface for a seamless user experience.
Camera Capabilities
The Vivo V40 series excels in photography, featuring a 50 MP front camera with an f/2.0 aperture and autofocus. The standard model’s main camera setup includes a 50 MP primary sensor with OIS and Zeiss optics, along with a 50 MP wide-angle lens. The Pro model steps up with a Sony IMX921 primary sensor, a 50 MP wide-angle lens, and an additional 50 MP telephoto lens with 2x zoom and an f/1.85 aperture, offering more versatile photography options.
Pricing and Availability
The Vivo V40 series is available in India with attractive color options: Titanium Gray, Lotus Purple, and Ganges Blue for the standard model, and Titanium Gray and Ganges Blue for the Pro model. Pre-orders are now live on the official Vivo India website. The Vivo V40 Pro will hit the market on August 13, followed by the standard model on August 16.
