Android 16 QPR1 Beta 3.1: Stability Updates Before Final Release
QPR, short for “Quarterly Platform Release,” represents major quarterly updates for Android. Beta 3.1 follows last month’s Beta 3 release and focuses primarily on stability. It introduces a wide range of bug fixes, fine-tuning system performance ahead of the stable version. Early reports suggest this patch is larger than usual for a bug-fix release, signaling that Google is addressing final issues before rollout.
The stable Android 16 QPR1 release is expected to arrive on , right before the next Pixel Feature Drop.
While Google is polishing Android 16 for Pixel devices, Samsung is advancing with its own software layer. The company has expanded its One UI 8 Beta program to include the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6.
Samsung is also preparing to launch the stable version of One UI 8 (based on Android 16) in September, debuting with the Galaxy S26 series. More Galaxy devices, including additional foldables and tablets, are expected to join the beta program in the coming weeks.
The next few weeks will be significant for Android users. Pixel owners enrolled in the beta program can already benefit from the smoother performance in QPR1 Beta 3.1, while those waiting for the public version should see the official release on September 3.
For Samsung users, the rollout of One UI 8 will mark a major step toward Android 16 adoption across the Galaxy ecosystem. Together, Google and Samsung’s upcoming updates ensure that Android 16 will bring enhanced stability, performance, and new features to millions of users worldwide.
